The Central Record Room (CRR) is a specialized division under the Services General Administration & Coordination Department, Government of Sindh, dedicated to the systematic collection, management, and preservation of non-current government records. Serving as the archival backbone of the province, the Central Record Room plays a critical role in safeguarding the administrative, legal, and historical documents that shape the governance and heritage of Sindh.
Established with the objective of ensuring that government records are organized, accessible, and preserved according to best practices, the Central Record Room provides a structured environment for managing public records that are no longer in active use. These records, although not required for daily operations, are invaluable for historical reference, policy analysis, legal proceedings, and academic research.
The Central Record Room operates under strict guidelines set by the Management Committee, which oversees the classification, retention, and disposal of records. By maintaining a robust and transparent record-keeping system, the CRR upholds the principles of accountability, integrity, and access to information, ensuring that the administrative history of Sindh is preserved for future generations.
